장막장이 사역은

Ministry.
모세의 율법 아래에서는 오직 레위인 만이 하나님의 일을 할 수 있었다.
그들은 성전에서 하나님을 섬기는 일 외에는 다른 일을 하지 않게 되었으며 그들의 필요는 다른 지파들에 의해 채워졌다.
그러나 신약시대에는 모든 성도들이 왕 같은 제사장으로 부름 받게 되었다 (벧전 2:9).
그러므로 예수님을 따르던 사람들 가운데에는 두 종류의 사람들이 있었다. 그분의 열 두 제자들은 부르심을 받자 자기들의 직업을 버리고 모든 시간을 사역에 보낸 사람들이다.
그런가 하면 어떤 사람들은 자기의 업을 계속 지니고 사역하던 사람들이 있다. 바울과 바나바(고전9:7), 아굴라와 브리스길라(행 18:3), 그리고 이름이 기록되지 않은 많은 사람들이 그들의 예가 되겠다.
후자의 부르심을 받은 자들을 위주로 한 TENMAKERSMINISTRY-YOUTH WITH A MISSION (이후로는 TM이라 칭함) 은 1999년 11월 토론토 캐나다에서 시작되었다.
특별히 이 땅에 영적 아비와 어미를 세우는 일과 하나님을 섬기는 다음 세대, 청년들이 일어나는 것을 비전으로 많은 이들이 삶의 현장에서 주님의 제자로 일어나 하나님을 예배하며 섬기도록 훈련하고 격려하는 사역을 하고 있다.
장막장이란 직업을 가지고 하나님을 섬기는 자들을 의미한다. 사도 바울이 아굴라와 브리스길라와 함께 있을 때 ‘업’이 같으므로 함께 거하여 일을 하니 그 업은 장막을 만드는 것이더라(행18:3)’ 라고 말한 것으로 그들의 직업이 장막장이였던 것을 알게 된다. 그리하여 직업을 가지고 하나님을 섬기는 자들을 그리스도의 몸 가운데 총괄적으로 장막장이라고 부르게 된 것이다.
우리는 직업의 터를 하나님께서 우리를 전략적으로 두신 곳으로 여기며 그곳에서 하나님을 섬기기로 작정한 사람들이다. 그렇기에 우리의 직업이 무엇이건 세속적이거나 하나님을 믿는 우리의 신앙과 구별된 것이라고 여기지 않는다. 그곳에서 맡겨진 일을 성실함으로 하나님께 하듯 하며, 하나님의 다스림과 통치하심이 있으시기를 구할 때, 그 어떤 직업도 성직임을 믿는 것이다.
우리의 정치, 경제, 교육, 예술, 문화와 미디어 등의 영역 가운데 이러한 장막장이들이 늘어날 때 우리가 구하는 그 분의 나라와 의가 이 땅에 이루어지게 되는 것을 믿는 것이다.
Under the law of Moses, only the Levites were permitted to do the work of God. They exclusively served God in the temple and did not engage in other occupations, as their needs were provided for by the other tribes. However, in the New Testament era, all believers are called to be a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9).
Thus, among those who followed Jesus, there were two types of people. The first type was His twelve disciples, who, when called, abandoned their professions to devote all their time to ministry. The second type included those who continued their work while also engaging in ministry. Examples of the latter include Paul and Barnabas (1 Corinthians 9:7), Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:3), and many others whose names are not recorded.
Tentmakers Ministry - Youth With A Mission (YWAM) (referred to as TM hereafter) began in November in Toronto, Canada. Its vision is to raise spiritual fathers and mothers, as well as the next generation of youth who will serve and worship God. TM trains and encourages many to rise as disciples of Jesus in their workplaces, worshiping and serving God in the midst of their daily lives.
The term 'tentmaker' refers to those who serve God while maintaining their occupations. Acts 18:3 states that Paul stayed and worked with Aquila and Priscilla because they shared the same trade—tentmaking. Hence, those who serve God while working in their professions are collectively referred to as tentmakers within the body of Christ.
We consider our workplaces to be strategic placements by God, where we are called to serve Him. Therefore, we do not view our professions as secular or separate from our faith. By faithfully performing the tasks entrusted to us as if unto God and seeking His rule and reign in those areas, we believe that any profession can be sacred work.
As tentmakers increase in areas such as politics, economics, education, arts, culture, and media, we believe that His kingdom and righteousness, for which we pray, will be established on earth.
