When an ordinary young man, Lauren Cunningham, decided to dedicate himself to God, God showed him a vision of a great wave covering the entire continent. Through it, he had a vision that many young people who believe in Jesus Christ would rise up and spread the gospel to every nation in the world like a great wave.
This vision from God became a reality, and in 1960, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) was founded. Since then, thousands of people from all over the world, from all cultures and denominations, have joined to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15).
Today, YWAM has 12,000 full-time workers in 800 branches in 135 countries around the world, dedicating their lives to world missions and working to fulfill the Great Commission.
